A New Flavor – Day 107

I know, I know.  This is a day late.  I didn’t get home until late last night, and I was just too tired to compose.  However….I did try something new.

Last night I had a jewelry event.  My friend, Melinda, put it together and made some hors d’oeuvres.  One of these were her own creation.  I have no idea of what she named it, but it was delicious.  She blended cream cheese and salsa.  It seemed that there was just enough salsa to tint the cheese and give it acidity, but there were no chunks from veggies in the salsa.  She placed the cream cheese mixture on crackers and topped with a slice of cucumber then added a dash of garlic salt.

There were a mixture of flavors and textures working together that made this so good.  The creaminess and tanginess of the cream cheese mixture, the cruchiness and dryness of the cracker, the mellow flavor and moisture of the cucumber — it all worked.

I could not stop eating them.  Melinda is one of the most creative people I know…obviously, that extends to her cooking skills, as well.
