I know. I know. Again, a day late. However, you may come to expect that over the next few days. May have limited — if any — computer access over the next several days as we venture to the Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation conference.
Regardless, yesterday’s new thing was beginning a new book, Divergent. By the way, I do realize I am the only human alive that has not either read the book or seen the movie by this point. I can’t help it. I’m always late to the party. In many aspects of my life, I’m a leader. However, when it comes to media, I am a follower. I usually don’t read a book or see a movie until it has over-saturated the media and book lovers.
I have a hard time taking a chance on something I’m not sure will be good. And I have pretty high standards when it comes to books I like so it is easy to be disappointed. Therefore, I have to get really excited about a book, usually, before I read it.
So anyhow….I have the premise of the book. Post-apocalyptic teen asked to make a coming-of-age decision to determine which faction she will be in. She doesn’t fit neatly into society’s norms and poses a threat to the current leadership. Kind of sounds like the Hunger Games without Lenny Kravitz and archery. I love post-apocalyptic lit. Pretty sure I’ll love this.
But the jury is still out. After all, I just started it.
